ZAKZAK: Sahashi Strikes Back

In this ZAKZAK article, Sahashi gives an interview to the Shuukan Diamond and puts his detractors on notice that he is planning on striking back.

The former Nova president comes out of hiding to declare war

Defiant interview in business magazine

In an interview with the business magazine Shuukan Diamond that hits the newsstand this week, the former head of failed English conversation school Nova, Nozomu Sahashi, strikes back at the trustee's allegations that he used the company for his own benefit demonstrated by his opulent office and high remuneration, saying that he has no choice but to go on the counterattack. Although he is still in hiding, he says he has plenty to say.

Part of the interview can be read online at the Shuukan Diamond's website.

In the interview, Sahashi says of his responsibility in contributing to Nova's collapse: "It is crystal clear that I was working under the basic premise to restructure the company so as not to inconvenience anyone."

Sahashi sought to restructure the company himself when business took a turn for the worse following the METI raid in February, but the trustees found this course of action questionable due to Sahashi's murky sales of shares of a subsidiary company, suggesting that his actions may construe "an aggravated breach of trust."

Sahashi completely denies the allegation, explaining that he never intended to line his own pockets by taking advantage of his position. He offers this apology to the student and employees: "As the one responsible, I am sorry for all the trouble I have caused."

Since the trustees took over, they revealed an opulent office that looks like it belongs in a love hotel, and the more than ¥300 million Sahashi received in remuneration while the company was in the red to show how he used Nova for his own benefit. The trustees repeatedly called Sahashi to ask for an explanation but were unable to contact him.

Sahashi appeared to be preparing to be going on the "counteroffensive" when he filed a petition with the Osaka District Court through his lawyers saying that the office was a "model room" and that he "received ¥100 million in remuneration at most."

He also denied the claim that he profited from the sales of Ginganet videophone systems for Nova's ocha no ma ryuugaku lessons, saying that there was never any intention to reap any profits.

Sahashi also had words for the executives who ousted him from power and the trustees: "It's odd that there was a slew of stories one after the other. [...] I have no choice but to fight back."

A Nova executive gave a measured response, "My impression is that these are superficial excuses. They are nothing more than the "shallow thinking of a monkey." Sahashi's lawyer suggests, "He was shocked at the beating he took in the media," which makes one wonder what kind of counteroffensive Sahashi has in the works.

Heh heh .. bring it on, Monkey Brains

I'm just waitin for the wonderful excuses he's busy cooking up, whilst he is busy spending my salary on his luxury hotel rooms. Taking a leaf from Nero's book? Learning to play the fiddle perhaps?
The "largest impact financial collapse since WWII", and this guy's saying it's "odd that there's been a slew of stories" against him?! Ha. It was funny a few weeks back. One of my co-workers in Nova was reading a book called "How To Become Extinct", and next to it was the Sahashi auto-biography called (rough translation) "Gravity-less Business" ... heh ... gravity's a bitch, mate. And remember, it's called the *law* of gravity. It gets you in the end. With a hot poker!

Megalomaniac!!!!

Jesus this ass-clown never gets old! He should be given an award! The award of biggest Asshat ever!
And, yeah, the excuses and bullshit would have been OK - IF THE COMPANY WAS STILL A PRIVATE COMPANY!!!
No right thinking CEO would ever try to pull this shit off with a PUBLICLY TRADED company! (Well, in the rest of the world, at least.)

Sarushashi should be in jail by now

Why is this man even walking the streets free? The evidence against him is overwhelming - trading while bankrupt, illegal share dealings, non payment of Shakai-Hoken for thousands of employees over an extended period, the list goes on. His accomplices , Anders Lunquist and Flemming Lord are just as guilty and should not escape prosecution. Saruhashi will never be able to walk the streets of Japan safely again. He has stolen money from over half a million people.

Waiting to see what happens...

I'm waiting to see if Saruhashi gets off without doing jail time. If he does I plan to open my own business, embezzle money, screw over the stock holders, and rob people blind just like monkey brains.

I really like the "shallow

I really like the "shallow thinking of a monkey" quote. He must have been tearing his hair out, climbing the bars of his cage and throwing his excrement at onlookers when he read that...

Saruhashi's Media Circus

If he's shocked at the beating he's taken so far, he clearly has no idea how much worse it's going to be if he tries to defend himself in court. Which I hope he does - it ought to be highly entertaining. Is it at all possible that they could find him criminally liable for all this and take all his money away, I wonder?

Hey, every thing's okay! -

Hey, every thing's okay! - he didn't mean to get stinking rich and have an opulent office. And, he's... sorry.

Now I feel all warm and tingly.

Lawsuit against "Saruhashi": Shakai-Hoken and "work time"

Hello together!

I will try to sue our EX-President in a civil law suit.
Why?
Reason:
1. Unpaid working time between the lessons for the under A40-teachers.
2. Due to unpaid time not elegible for Shakai-Hooken.

If the law suit is won, there are only benefits.
Which?
Benefits:
1. Since the action taken by NOVA were illegal, "Saruhashi" personally can be sued. Understand? Since NOVA is out of money, he has to take responsibility for ILLEGAL action of his former company. Hence benefit 1 is: We get him at his balls!
2. Squeeze money out of his pockets into ours!
3. Have backpaid Shakai-Hoken. If you leave Japan someday, you can apply for cash refund, without having ever paid into the Shakai-Hoken-system, since the company (in this case Saruhashi) is 100% responsible for illegaly unpaid fees.

So, why I am writing this?
Reasons:
1. I am a socialist, and want my fellows to share.
2. To share the win of the lawsuit!
3. To share the initial cost of suing, like hiring a lawyer and court fees.
I expect a personal amount of 1.000 Yen, when 500 MEN and WOMEN join my suit.

Now it is up to you, if you are only "wining weeners" or if you really think, that you are right and Saruhashi is wrong?!?

2 possible decisions:
1. I have no balls. Saruhashi is right. I am wrong.
2. I'm in.

If 2. is your option, then mail to

Mail from a unique email address and include a pseydonym/ a nickname.
At the current state no real names shall be used.
Please include also the contract type you were working under (A37, A34, etc.) and why you worked in the lesson intervall other then the paid working time (e.g. additional student questions, walking time from class to teachers room, writing comments, giving oral comments to staff, copying material, going to toilet, forced by trainer/ staff, waiting for stamp on lesson cover form, rescheduling needs, etc.)
Be honest, and be clear.

I will promise to organize, and inform on a daily basis.
Depending on the number of participants, I will calculate the necessary individual amount that every participant would have to pay.
Since this shall not be a scam or fraud, I will discuss with the UNION (I am not a member), the labour office and other relevant public institutions, how to deposit the money in a transparent and safe way. If anybody has a suggestions of a trusted person/ institution please inform us!

For the unexpected case, that only a few people have balls here, I will sue AND probably settle with Saruhashi on an individual basis. No further comment concerning this suit will send be made public.

So, I am eager to read your responses.

A. Socialist

what the hell!

1000 yen is what i paid the union, for...uhm...not sure what exactly..

in the words of austin powers

time to make those capitalist dogs pay for their crimes eh comrade?
